With the first overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft
The 2009 NFL Draft first round pick is, the Detroit Lions select another Wide Receiver? I certainly hope not. This team, this organization has to be built up in the trenches. The Offensive line and the defensive line. Didn’t Detroit learn anything? You cannot continuously draft a wide receiver year after year after year. Look what just happened. Roy williams, the wide receiver that is, just went to the Dallas Cowboys. The Lions didn’t get anything out of him.
So I digress. The Lions should be looking at someone like B.J. Raji. A Defenstive Tackle out of Boston College. He is raw but he is emerging as a potential top-10 pick.
The Rams. Well the Rams have to start somewhere. It might as well be on defense as well. How about Defensive End, Everrette Brown. Its hard to believe that the Rams won a Super Bowl not that long ago.
The Bengals desperately need to upgrade their offensive line. Carson is going to get killed back there. Jason Smith is worth a look. The shame of it is that Carson was the next coming of Troy Aikman. He just didnt have Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin. So what better place to start. Yes, you guessed it. The Offensive Line.
I actually like Mark Sanchez, QB, USC for the Kansas City Chiefs. Its a tough call. Do you send him to Lion’s Den or do you send him to Chief’s horror. There are only two positions in this draft that can possibly be taken at this spot; LT and QB. He could be the QB to be the face of their franchise.
