You really have to hand it to Bill Belichick. He is a true mastermind. Cheat or not. He has gotten the 2nd pick in the draft (overall 32nd) for a QB, Matt Cassell, that he picked up in the 7th round.

This guy should be running the economy. Nice ROI. That is why New England has cemented a place atop the AFC East even without Brady. They don’t overpay for players. They don’t keep players too long. They win with lesser players.

Now it remains to be seen about Cassell but one year and you are worth a 2nd round pick. All I can say is that Pioli knows about football and doing his part. Now will he look like a genius or will the REAL genius will have made a fool of him, Bill Parcell’s style.

Personally, I think when you take a guy like Cassell out of Belichick’s system then there is only one way to go. Down or maybe mediocre. Cassell took that team to 11-5 and just missed the playoffs. Thats another story all together. How will he fair without his mentor, the brains behind the operation. The man behind the curtain. We’ll see.

If Brady goes down again, then I wonder if Bill could do it again with a relatively unknown, unexperienced QB under center.
