The NFL Draft for all teams is a vital part of their future success. You must choose wisely. There are many philosophies when it comes to approaching the draft. Then selecting your choice in that round at that position. The analysis of selection. There are two main philosophies: draft for need or draft the best player available regardless of need. You can make the case for both.
The Indianapolis Colts must decide which direction they want their Indianapolis Colts NFL franchise to go. Build, slow and steady and created a foundation of cement (or atleast hardwood floors) or build for the win now. Oh, that just reminded me. Two more philosophies. These are not draft day philosophies, they are team direction approaches. You can approach the season as a, play to win now or play to win eventually. Living in a Instant Gratification Society they former is more tempting but usually leads to poor decisions when it comes to signing old Free Agents that dont have much left except to cash in one more pay day. The Redskins have perfected that art.

It is tough to rate the 2010 NFL Draft picks made by Colts, as they may have had their own reasons for it. Going for Jerry Hughes and ignoring Rodger Saffold at #31 gave an indication that they were looking for a fast and large defensive end for their side. However, Saffold could have been the answer to their needs of a defensive tackle.
Linebacker, Pat Angerer, and Cornerback, Kevin Thomas, did suggest that they had a plan, which they did not wish to change. Again, Brody Eldridge at #162 is the tight end, will be the goal-line player that the franchise has been looking for. Other picks for the Colts included Ricardo Matthews (defensive tackle), Kevin Conner (linebacker), Ray Fisher (cornerback) and Jacques McClendon (guard).
You cannot say that their pick was disappointing throughout, but the absence of a defensive tackle in their 2010 NFL Draft Picks may make life difficult in the season for Colts.
